Dear Valued FOVLAP Members,

The Federation of VT Lakes and Ponds (FOVLAP) has worked diligently to offer a brand new website, one that offers you plenty of reasons to visit and stay. Perhaps you have already visited the site at

This posting contains all you need to log into your membership account for the first time and set up a profile as an individual member or lake association. We recognize the importance of networking to protect Vermont’s lakes and ponds. This is your first step in creating an association directory with regular highlights of FOVLAP members and a shared calendar of events and forums. New content and features are being added as we continue to update the new site. Please consider subscribing to our email list to receive notifications as these resources become available.

If you have ANY issues following these directions, please email Jerremy Jones, our web expert, at He is happy to assist you.

Thank you for taking the time to login to the website and update your profile!

– FOVLAP Website Committee

  4. Click on that link, and on the page that opens, type in the password you would like to use, and click the ‘Reset Password’
  5. The next screen will show you a message that ‘Your password has successfully been updated.’ and you will be able to log into your account for the first time there.

If you are setting up a profile for your association:

(see instructions below for setting up a profiles as an individual member)

After following the steps to log into your account for the first time, you’ll be on the “Your Profile” edit page (

  1. Leave the “First Name” field blank, and make sure your association name appears as you’d like it in the “Last Name” field.
  2. Set the public display name to your lake association name as you’d like it to appear. You can also add your lake association name to the “Lake/Pond association” field (for use in the membership list)
  3. Add a lake photo. We recommend uploading a file that is 1,200 pixels wide and 600+ pixels tall. Be sure your file is named after your association. Use a JPEG file for best results. We recommend you avoid using images with text on them.
  4. Verify your association’s address information
  5. Verify your association information, adding your website URL and a brief description of your association, using less than 400 words.
  6. Add a secondary contact if desired, such as the association president if the primary contact is the treasurer.
  7. List the contact information for your association’s FOVLAP Voting Member. You will add the member’s name, email and role. You will be able to change this information at any time.
  8. Under the heading of ‘Avatar’, you can add your association’s logo, or another small image to represent your lake (you can also leave it blank). The image will appear in a small circle and will show in the directory listing for your association. The recommended size is 100 pixels by 100 pixels.
  9. Be sure to click the “Update Profile” button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
  10. You can view the membership directory of lake associations, and find your membership listing here:
