Clean Water Projects Webinar Series #7:
Model My Watershed Webinar
On January 29, 2026, the Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds held a special event to demonstrate Model My Watershed, a powerful online modeling tool.

Model My Watershed
This lunchtime webinar demonstrates an online tool called Model My Watershed, developed by the Stroud Water Research Center, to aid in the understanding of your lake’s watershed. Model My Watershed allows you to identify flows to your lake and models the transport of sediment and nutrients in these flows. The impacts of extreme rain events can be simulated as well as those from yearly average weather conditions. The model takes into account varying soil types and land uses throughout the watershed. Inputs like the presence of livestock and failed septic systems can be adjusted to assess their impacts.
Model My Watershed is a powerful tool that can help citizens, conservation practitioners, municipal decision-makers, researchers, educators, and students advance knowledge and stewardship of fresh water.
Speaker:
Dave Johnson, FOVLAP treasurer, Board member of the Lake Dunmore Fern Lake Association, and retired physicist, will present this webinar.
