Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes actions to help address climate change.

This act may be known under its short title as the “Vermont Global Warming Solutions Act.”

One purpose of this bill is to create a fair, workable, cost-effective, and legally enforceable system by which Vermont will be able to reduce its economy-wide carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
