The Lake Shoreland Protection Commission has set the date for its last public meeting – Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 6:00 PM in Room 11 of the State House in Montpelier.  Unlike the previous Commission meetings, this meeting will be an open public hearing format with people who would like to speak being given two minutes each.

The Lake Shoreland Protection Commission has also posted a draft of its report to the Legislature.  You can click here to view the draft of this report.

Since last May the Commission has held six public meetings – in Newport, Fairlee, Lake Bomoseen, Middlebury, North Hero, and Burlington. Over 700 people attended the meetings and approximately 290 comments were provided to the Commission at the meetings. Other comments were submitted to the Commission by e-mail or U.S. mail.  In total, the Commission received at least 320 comments from the public.  The Commission’s draft report contains a summary of the public comments and the Commission’s response to those comments.
