Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to establish a moratorium on the issuance of an aquatic nuisance control permit by the Secretary of Natural Resources that authorizes the use or application of pesticides, chemicals other than pesticides, or biological controls until one year after completion of an assessment by a study committee of how the environmental and public health effects of the use of pesticides, chemicals other than pesticides, or biological controls compare to their efficacy in controlling aquatic nuisances.
