Updated information concerning the new Use of Public Waters Rules
The new rules affecting wake boats and wake sports in Vermont are in effect as of June 11, 2026. Complete information explaining the rules, listing those lakes that now allow wake sports, and decontamination requirements can be found on the VT DEC website here: https://dec.vermont.gov/
Please note especially that the decontamination protocols for wake boats moving between lakes have changed. The new procedures are list on the page linked above.
