On Thursday, January 8th, FOVLAP visited the Vermont State House Card Room and had the opportunity to interact with many legislators.

Members of FOVLAP’s Board, Vince Pisegna, Kent Henderson, Jay White, and Jerremy Jones, set up a table and spoke with over 40 legislators about FOVLAP’s mission and issues that impact Vermont’s lakes and ponds.

The Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds maintains a proactive presence with the Vermont Legislature and with the state government to advocate for policies to preserve and protect Vermont’s lakes, ponds, and watersheds.

Our work includes:

  • Monitoring the current Vermont legislation and providing current information on the progress of water related bills as they move through the legislative
  • Testifying before legislative committees to raise awareness of the issues and challenges affecting our public waters.
  • Providing information and advocacy support to our membership.
  • Collaboration with the VTDEC to ensure adequate technical guidance and support for all lake associations.
