Administrative Assistant (part-time) for The Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds
Do you have a passion for protecting Vermont’s lakes and ponds? The Federation of Vermont Lakes & Ponds (FOVLAP), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering water quality standards and preserving Vermont’s lakes and ponds, is looking for a part-time, experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the FOVLAP team to develop, manage, and conduct a schedule of educational webinars, meetings with legislators, and outreach events with lake associations to advance the goals of FOVLAP.
- Develops motivational materials and outreach presentations to encourage member associations to consider clean water projects.
- Learns about the issues facing Vermonters who work to promote water quality.
- Makes independent decisions daily, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders including the FOVLAP board of directors, officers, auxiliary and committee chairs; member lake associations & individuals; and partners and constituents.
- Coordinates events, selects appropriate venues, organizes technology for hybrid meetings, oversees communication and marketing to constituents, writes press releases, and reports on results.
- Identifies potential opportunities to raise awareness and educate the public about the threats to Vermont’s water bodies and the work of FOVLAP.
Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience as an administrative assistant
- Opportunity for remote work
- Ability to communicate educational and technical information, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and experience with project management. Experience using project management software is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
