We’re excited to announce that we’ve added a new Clean Water Projects section to our website entitled, “Creating and Implementing a Lake Watershed Action Plan”.

Researched and written by Dave Johnson, FOVLAP’s longtime board member, this “work-in-progress” addresses many aspects of creating and implementing LWAPs for Clean Water Projects. Please share this information to help us preserve and protect Vermont’s lakes and ponds.

Why Create a Lake Watershed Action Plan (LWAP):

  • To reduce the risk of harmful algae blooms
  • To sustain lake recreational uses – swimming, boating, fishing
  • To stop the spread of bottom muck
  • To reduce the growth of nuisance weeds
  • To maintain the aesthetic value of clean water and healthy wildlife
  • To preserve the value of the lake and lakeshore property for future generations
