On November 21st, 2024, the Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds and the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, Watershed Management Division, Lakes and Ponds Program held a special event to discuss why lake associations said YES to Lake Watershed Action Plans.
Have you heard about Lake Watershed Action Plans? FOVLAP will be hosting a series of free webinars to inform lake residents and lake associations in Vermont about these plans. In this first webinar, environmental scientist Alison Marchione briefly described these plans and listed the lakes where plans have been created or are in process. Then representatives of several lakes explained why they decided to act and how they came to this decision. Subsequent meetings will explore other aspects, from how to assess your lake’s water quality to implementing the clean water projects identified in these plans.
