The 2021 seminar, “Phosphorus Pollution–A High Stakes Watershed Issue” will be informative, but in shorter segments–to alleviate screen fatigue as much as possible! Before each break there will be a Water Trivia game and the winners will receive a “door prize.”

Responding to the increase in the discharge of pollutants into US surface waters, the Clean Water Act was passed fifty years ago. The Act established the basic structure for regulating discharges into surface waters and for regulating surface water standards. Driving improvements in wastewater and stormwater management, the act improved surface water quality nationwide.

How Effective are Subsurface Gravel Wetlands at Treating Stormwater Runoff in Vermont? The presentation will review the 2020-2021 performance data on the flow attenuation and phosphorus capture of two gravel wetlands that were selected for this study and introduce design recommendations to improve the performance of future permitted gravel wetlands.
